Keeping it clean for a month

It all started with a galfriend who send a picture of a celebrity with his tone abs that started the frenzy. Next thing I know, I said YES to a health program to lose weight.
I gave up on :
Sugar
Teh C (I love my Teh C – tea with evaporated milk)
Fried Pork Lard and all fried food
Pork and Duck
Carbs – I love carbs, I am a bread, rice, pasta person
All snacks, ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!
All sauces, no curry, no gravy.
No seasoning
It was a very daunting decision as I knew I had to stick to the plan religiously, and I am a live to eat person, I enjoy GOOD FOOD too much.
The program is simple, take their formulated patent biscuits, to absorb food intake and prevent hunger. Supplement with lots of water through the day, and you can take egg white, seafood, beef, mutton, and lots of veggies, boiled, steamed or grilled. Apple at 4pm was critical.
We weigh ourselves in the morning, with their special tailored machine. Report result to a group of coaches, who will study our chart, and advise what to eat for the day. The machine monitors your weight, fats %, fat weight, visceral fat, water, muscles, metabolism, skeleton muscles. Each morning was exciting to weigh in and see how I was doing. Some days were disappointing but I kept to it.
A big pad on my shoulders, I followed strictly through 30 days with 1 cheat day when I went out for lunch. Total weight lost was 6KG and I called it a day, thankful for the experience. The tummy is flatter, the arms are smaller. Was so thrilled to fit back into my old clothes which I held onto with dear life, hoping wishing maybe one day I’ll slim down to wear it again.
Why did I say Yes?
- I was more curious if it actually work or hear say how diet plan works. Will I be able to keep it off? Yes if I eat sensibly and limit going back to bad habits of snacking late into the night, and cutting carbo during dinner.
- I had a two other galfriends who did it along with me, and they basically gave me the killer line : “If you don’t do it with us, YOU WILL NEVER DO IT” It’s always fun to do things with your closest friends, we encouraged each other, and laughed together.
- I wanted to make a conscious choice to learn about eating a little healthier.
- As age catches up, I wanted to lose, reset a little so the body will be able to cope with future food intake.
- The real motivator was really to see IF I could do it. In many ways I knew I could because it’s only for a month. If it was presented to me that I have to stay on a 3 months program or even 2, I’ll probably say no. Small steps, able to see the light in the tunnel is a lot more bearable then trotting along moaning. A few stayed on and the results were more astonishing.
Will I still enjoy sinful food available? Yes of course, I am not giving up on my bak chor mee, curry chicken, or char kway tiow. I just need to balance a sinful meal with clean eating after.
What I learnt is food should be enjoyed. Each bite into a boiled veggies, steam fish with garlic and ginger was still very much tasty. We are brought up to add salt and sauces into our food. Plain on its own was very much enjoyable too. Each food has its own distinct natural taste. When we eat out, eat whole heartedly that’s what the coaches advise, worry and adjust the weight back the next day.
Been a week since I jailed break, weight went up accumulated 1 Kg for the first 3 days as I indulged on my regulars, but the next 4 days I ate cleaner, simpler, and lost the 1 Kg.
May I only move up down within 2kg tolerance level, and not balloon back up.
Wish me luck.
